Our client is a large research and insights firm with an established team in Sydney. They partner with government and commercial organisations on high-profile projects, combining rigorous qualitative and quantitative research with strategic advice to inform real decisions.

The Role
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Associate Research Director to join their Sydney team. You will lead complex, qualitative-led research projects from design through to delivery, guide a team of skilled researchers and partner with senior clients to turn insights into action. It’s a senior role with real scope to progress as the business grows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement qualitative research strategies and methodologies, with quantitative input where required.
• Oversee analysis and report writing, and present clear, strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Grow and manage key client accounts across government and commercial sectors.
• Lead proposals, tenders and business development, and contribute to revenue growth.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of researchers.

About You

• 10+ years’ experience in social research, market research or evaluation, ideally agency or consultancy side.
• Strong qualitative expertise, including research design, fieldwork, moderation and analysis.
• Quantitative experience is highly regarded.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong report writing ability.
• Proven leadership, client management and business development experience.
• A relevant degree in market research, social sciences, psychology or a related field.
