The role
As a Senior Consultant on the government incentives team, you will work directly with the partners of the business to understand their clients’ sectors, strategies and activities. Using your respected experience in assisting clients to access very large government grants and other incentives, you will identify opportunities and advise on approach.

What you’ll do

  • Gain a deep understanding of each client’s business in order to identify potential government grants and other incentives
  • Perform detailed analysis to assess eligibility
  • Advise on available approaches and make recommendations based on your proven experience
  • Write compelling grant proposals that highlight the strengths and needs of the client, ensuring alignment with the grant’s requirements
  • Develop clear, persuasive narratives that effectively communicate the client’s mission, programs and strategies
  • Revise, edit, and proofread proposals to ensure accuracy, clarity and coherence
  • Deliver grant applications within set timelines and submission deadlines
  • Assist in the development of project budgets and narratives, ensuring they align with the application narrative and program guidelines
  • Engage in continuous improvement of writing processes and practices, incorporating feedback to enhance proposal quality
  • Develop a deep understanding of the grants overall landscape and each grant’s specific requirements and submission processes
  • Stay abreast of trends and changes in grant funding opportunities and regulations


Knowledge and experience

To qualify for the role you should have:

  • A genuine interest current affairs and politics at a state and federal level as well as internationally
  • Proven track record of writing successful large grant proposals, with a strong portfolio of work
  • Exceptional writing, editing and research skills
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling and persuasive copy
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Specific grant writing experience in sport, sustainable energy practices, culture,  health and first nations highly regarded
